I was thinking, what would have happened if che went into politics, swapped bullet for ink.

i'll tell u what wudda happened, the cia would still have killed him, just like allende.

Does anyone think that che would have been a successful politician, as he was a revolutionary?

I think Che would have been an inspirational politician - and probablely would have remained uncorrupted by the power of the position.

I think he would have had the support of the people and I agree with you in the sense that he would not have went corrupt........but yeah......the C.I.A. probably still would have gotten him anyways

I stumbled upon this site by accident. I'm wondering if any of the participants who seem to be so fond of Mr. Guevara and Mr. Castro have ever been to Cuba or have families on the island. I'm Cuban and my dad and 2 uncles spent about 15 years of their lives in jail thanks to Castro. Their crime? Disagreeing with him and trying to leave the backward, third-world country he created.

Well, why do they celebrate Columbus Day, he was a mass murdurer. He would force Native Americans to search for gold, and if they came back with it. They would recieve a pendant. Any 'Indian' found without a pendant would have their hands sliced off and be forced to bleed to death. As far as I'm concerned though, this website was made to remember Che Guevera, not necesarrily Castro.

Che was a politician, he was make something of something by Castro but I can't remember what coz my memory and general knowledge is shit. But because Che was always thinking of the revolution of the World his mind was on fighting in Africa and S. America and he left Cuba 2 fight on like the great man he was. But I think he was still a 'politician' in Cuba.

Che was a very successful politician and I think he would have continued not just in one country but on the world stage.

And to our guest, you woudl do well to read some of the biographical material on Che Guevara and the type of man he was. Not everyone in this board supports socialism and communism, yet we all appreciate the man who Jean Paul Sartre called "The most complete human being on the planet"

I don't think Che was a political person. He got itchy forrevolution when he was minister of finance (he showed his contempt for the monetary system by signing the banknotes with his nickname 'Che'). Revolution was what he did best. Had he lived, I think he would have spread revolution further around Latin America and the world.
To are guest, can I point out that it is the capitalist powers which create the backward, third world countries, not Castro and Che and the boys

Just as a note Ernesto was in the Cuba government for a while as the Minister for Industry. May not be what you are asking but I think it shows his ability to adapt to the situation he found himself in.

To all the guys that dont think Che would not be a good political person your wrong.......At the age of 6 Che talked with his Father bout politic.......and he was always very interested in it....and cause he was a men of the people...and lived in poor conditions for quite some time....he would have bin a great one.......dont forget you can't be a political for the people if you live in a filty rich house with everything on it........you must have lived in the conditions the people lived in to understand and do your job.....
    Che got them all.....
