100,000's of people will be in DC on inauguration day to celebrate Obama's election. But what does this election represent—the US moving beyond its history of oppressing Black people and toward a post racial future? Or a move by the powers that be to put themselves in a better position to ride out the troubled times they see confronting them and their system in the period ahead? And whose victory is this? Is it a victory for the people of Afghanistan whose country will soon have 30,000 US troops surged into it, and who will face more bombing raids and more house-to-house searches as a result? Is it a victory for the people of Gaza who are facing Israeli bombs and tanks in a US backed and funded "all out war"? Is it a victory for Black people who will continue to confront continuing suppression in white supremacist America? Is it a victory for gay people who had doors slammed in the face of their quest for equality on the very election night when Obama won his victory?
Join Carl Dix and others to discuss these important questions on Sunday, Jan 11th. Carl Dix has been a revolutionary leader since the 1960's. He was one of the Fort Lewis 6, six GIs who refused orders to go to Vietnam in 1970, and was sentenced to two years in Fort Leavenworth Military Penitentiary for this "crime." He represents the Revolutionary Communist Party and recently wrote the article, "Don't Be A Buffalo Soldier," available online at revcom.us. Sponsored by Revolution newspaper.

Call for Volunteers to Go to D.C.

Amidst Inauguration "Obama-Mania" -
A Call to the People:
Stop thinking like Americans!
Start thinking about humanity!

STOP the U.S.-backed Massacre and invasion of Gaza:

Is this the change you were hoping for?

Those of us who live in the United States are responsible to declare ourselves and challenge others—right on the day of, and right in the midst of, Barack Obama’s inauguration—TO OPPOSE THE CRIMES OF U.S. EMPIRE, SUCH AS IS NOW HAPPENING GAZA, EVEN IF "RE-BRANDED" BY OBAMA.

Join us in Washington on Inauguration Day (Jan 20th) and the days leading up to it. If you live in the DC area, get in touch to provide housing, food and other support for volunteers.

(more details below)

Over 600 Palestinians have now been killed in Israel's bombing and invasion of Gaza—the world's largest open-air concentration camp. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza are cut off from food and water and the borders are sealed. The U.S. has backed Israel with new, sophisticated military weaponry AND with full diplomatic support.

Obama’s remarks from his visit to Israel last summer have been quoted frequently: "If someone was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I'm going to do everything in my power to stop that." What is this but a green light signal to Israel that an Obama administration would support Israel's attacks, that there is support and agreement with the deadly logic that an American (or Israeli) life is worth more than hundreds of Arab lives.

Donate generously for the massive amounts of fliers, stickers, and copies of this issue of Revolution newspaper needed to challenge those who come and those who view or hear about this with the truth about these crimes and the system behind them.

Donate online.

The whole world will be watching: let's make the message loud and clear:
Stop the U.S.-backed Massacre in Gaza!
Stop drinking the ObamaL'aid!
Stop thinking like Americans,
Start Thinking about Humanity!

Make a generous contribution.

It will cost several thousand dollars for printing all of the fliers, stickers and posters needed to send the message "Stop drinking the ObamaL'aid! Stop thinking like Americans, Start Thinking about Humanity" in the period of the inauguration.

We are working with Revolution Books in NYC for the printing of these materials. To make a donation, go to the store's website and click "Make a Donation."
