I dunno guys (and gals).....I like to pride myself on having a good sense of humour, but I am not sure about this.
Fat people have become the last remaining sect of society which is still okay to make blatant derrogatory comments about and poke fun at. Imagine, for a moment that there was a site like that about african-americans, poking fun and making derrogatory comments. I am pretty sure a good majority of people here would be quite upset.
I am not saying that racism and discrimination do not abound all over the place, and that ignorant people are still outward about it......but think about it in the "politically correct" standard that has emerged in our day and age. Fat people can still be publicly ridiculed with no real outrage from the PC sector. (thats what I mean in the last paragraph)
I agree that obesity rates have gotten out of control, and it is due to fast food, gluttonous culture......but still, these are people just like everyone else.
After I had my daughter I gained a lot of weight, which I have since lost. But for a time being I was ridiculed publicly by strangers, would get comments directed towards me in University lecture halls from frat guys, etc etc and let me tell you it was very very devistating to me. And though I lost a good portion of what I gained, those memories are still very fresh, and it hurts.
I know a lot of you will say "hey mujer.....lighten up, get a sense of humour......" but ya know, just think about it.We all would be quick to tear down racists and biggots......

The thing is, (and I think this is why they don't get so much attention for being ridiculed) in most (note that word cause if you ***** at me for excluding it [which I did not] I will ignore your post) situatons you are in control over your weight! just as if you wore something really "freakish" you should expect ridicule. But if you were pregnant, have it in your genes...ect. than I think it's wrong. If "fat" people really have that big of a deal with it, they should start working out. and I know losing weight isn't easy
