America’s living standard is costly to the environment. In fact, one US citizen costs more than an entire Mexican village, in environmental terms. At the rate that the United States consumes the worlds resources, it would take four more earths to supply the amount of resources needed to support the entire earth’s population, living at the same living standard as Americans.
In order to maintain such a living standard, imperialism and war are imperative. It is imperative… to support such a lumbering top heavy failing system, to make capitalism global. Meaning that resources must be exploited by third world nations, and moved through second world markets, if the first world can expect to continue it’s lifestyle. This is another reason why Capitalism, has no intention of the liberation of impoverished third world nations. For it is their land, labor, and goods produced, that keep the system from busting at the seems.

Lets just hope we can find another power source in vast, non-damaging quantities...
The earth has enough resources that everyone can live comfortably if properly distributed.... not...at the standards that people live in the US... but while Americans can wash 15 cars with clean potable drinking water, other nations go to war over clean water sources.

unfortunately, humans are naturally greedy, and those who have power use it, and fear losing it. Ah! it looks like Mazdak is doing a smoking frog 2.
I think AK47 has actually left, but i'm not sure...
Energy to power the world from a bucket of sea water for a 100 years.

great! let's hope it's renewable!
Dude, like. . .. . the lights, they are like . .. . . . so bright.
When we talk about energy in enviromental terms, we are talking about all the world's resources that make it go.
In order to produce the incresingly high yeilds that we obtain through modern intensive agricuture, large amounts of chemicals are needed, as well as genetic modification. However...this has been know to cause long term dire affects to the soils, run off from farms destroy ground waters, etc.
When I talk about "Energy" I am also talking about the human "energy" ... that labor that is needed to make the system work.
I wasn't talking about "energy" that makes electricity

okay! great!
I will attone for my past mistakes!
A funny picture does not constitute evidence for your claims. Please post the links to the research so that we can all make educated opinions.
It's a parody. These are widely employed, especially in politcal articles.
The research comes from a class I am taking called enviromental anthropology.

It can be very effective if used correctly.
You have a text book title? Published works by the professor? I will seriously try to do the same research to either asssert or refute your claims.
excellent!
You argue that a system is responsible for human ills in the world. I argue it is human nature. There are too man people in this world. By human nature, I mean hunka hunka boom. You need to convice people to take cold showers rather than doing the horizontal Macarena. Less people, more to go around, even at a USA lifestyle.

ISn't the real problem of capitalism over production?
These clowns don't produce for the purpose of subsistence, but rather to create vast empires and defend them from internal revolution, foreign invasion and market fluctuation. And in order to create these excessive, wasteful empires, much MORE than what is necessary must be produced. To think that only one half of one percent of the population is permitted to share in this sickening wealth is staggering. The rest of us proles are forced to create it, day in and day out, for fifty years or more. Then we get to sit around for a decade or so and watch the subsequent generations of slaves repeat the cycle.
Capitalism sucks EVERYTHING dry of energy. Not just the earth, but all of the earth's people, its animals, absolutely any and every single thing.

When China was communist, who was sucking them out of energy? Maybe it was just because they have 2 or so BILLION people. When China was communist they also tried to prevent people from bouncing the bed springs. It was official policy, one child per couple.
