A nation set against it's underprivileged youth!
A nation set against it's underprivileged youth!When one member of humanity is placed in a situation of disparity, usually this human being will take desperate measures, regardless of race, nationality, documented status, or any other label in which we divide our selfs. These desperate acts are often taken by adolescence, finding their place in the world, testing their limits, as well as caring for and defending the people they love. In this law driven and nationalistic society we label the youth breaking the governments laws as juvenile delinquency, or adolescence delinquency. The factors that manifest such delinquency are numerous, but an extreme imbalance in the distribution of resources, a system of the values embedded in privatized wealth, as well as political leaders who commit comprehensibly immoral acts against other members of humanity, citizen and non-citizen of it's nationalistic union are factors so obvious and unsettling that I feel they must be exposed.
In a situation in which the top wealthiest 1% of the population, have more wealth then the lowest 90% combined, this may cause massive despair and unrest. Unfortunately this is the current situation, in one of the most wealthiest nations in the world, in the United States of America. Fortunately for top wealthiest 1% , the American system is set up in a way in which most are oblivious to this simple fact because that we are pacified by material goods, a class system, and the constant fear including fascism in far off places, “horrible people” who which to share their resources, and terrorist, “who hate us for the simple fact that we are free” that explains why they are not large riots in the streets. We can see this systems problems manifest in the lowest economic standing of the youth, though desperate acts of theft, violence, and vandalism. Almost all violent crimes in the U.S. Are committed by lower income youth including mostly male minorities and lower income adolescence ,also mostly male, whites. What makes the lower class more likely to commit crimes? This county is sometimes called the land of opportunity, but the reality is if your home situation does allow you to excel in school, to try to compete for what relatively little scholarships are available, you have little chance of moving up in society without breaking a couple of rules. The poor are plagued with a system which has a highly underfunded and unappreciated education, dose not understand them as human beings, and in which they are very likely to become noting but workers who are sightly better off, then that of slaves or indentured servants, without resorting to braking the law. There is also a large group of youth which is not even recognized by our government, and does not have the chance to go to any public college, and most private colleges, because they are not legally here in this country. They are not legally here because of no choice of there own, but their parents choice to try to better provide for them in the unbalanced distribution of wealth, no only in this nation, but in this world. This group of undocumented youth has almost no way of survival with out braking the law, for they are labeled by this government and our society as Illegal Human Beings.
The effects of a nation so interconnected with the system of privatized wealth are numerous and disgusting in nature. One of them is our disconnection with our fellow human beings, because of our unhealthy addiction to material consumer goods. This results in a higher level of crime, because if you do not know the person you are committing a crime against, while you are under the stress of a corrupt society, which values material things,it is easy to have little remorse for your actions. In the value system of privatized wealth one is rewarded for having monitory wealth regardless of how, one came in position of it. In Adolescence we are still forming our characters based of a system of punishment and reward, if an adolescence is reward by theft, and not caught by police or reprimanded by his or her parents that adolescence is likely to steal again. In our system human being are some times put below material goods. For example there is many cases of people dieing in hospital waiting rooms because they do not have health insurance to pay for the medical visit. This value is easily instilled in the minds of the youth, to better serve corporations in which they receive their coveted material goods, which usually benefit the wealthiest of Americans. On the favorite places for youth to hang out at is the mall, which is a place where humans desire for consumer goods is manifested. While other who were placed, by birth in a situation where they can not afford consumer goods are constantly given blows to their self-esteem by relentless advertisements. In a society that puts a high importance on consumer goods and little on the relationships amongst humanity, it is easy for the youth to indulge in acts of adolescence delinquency.
It was once stated by a great peace maker and hero for human rights “A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense, than programs of social uplift is reproaching spiritual death.” This was voiced by civil rights leader Martian Luther King Jr. in a very turbulent time in our nations history, were the poor youth were sent off to a war to protect the west's privatized wealth against Eastern socialists. History has a habit of repeating itself. We find our self yet again in a war which kills off the youth of our nation as well as the innocence of the world. The youth are very impressionable group of society. With it's leaders committing acts of violence for reasons of power and wealth, how can you expect the youth to do any better? The wars also help contribute even more to the poverty level of the U.S. Making the environment even more capable for breeding juvenile delinquency. Our political leaders are setting a bad example for the youth of this nation, the only difference is when the usually underprivileged youth act out against the system they face harsh consequences, while leaders who waste precious resources, causing the death of millions go unpunished. Our society of greed and nationalism breeds catastrophe, including the crimes of the young.
our heavily capitalistic system, which has been from the very beginning, has never truly come in to terms with the belief that all people are created equal. One of the consequences is adolescent delinquency. My only hope is that we may learn from the past and place those aggregations to counter the system of lies, greed, fear and hatred which imprisons all of humanity, rather them fight amongst each other for our present needs and desires.

I think you have touched on some key points that
1) frustration at inequality manifesting itself in rebelliousness
2) divide and rule. Use fear to keep the masses in their place and to make them suspicious of each other (eg. racism)
3) outside options restricted due to being impoverished, thus turn to crime
4) materialism undermines the ethical values that we as a society should really cherish
