I am making this thread to discuss the difference between centralized ethics and decentralized ethics and which philosophy should be used in a revolutionary society.
Centralized ethics, better known as morality, is the idea that there is a set right or wrong in the universe or to a particular society. Decentralized ethics would throw away a set right or wrong and ethics would be dependent on the individual situation.
For example, an example of morality would be treating our guests well because that benefits the community. Decentralized ethics would say that treatment of guests would depend on the individual situation to determine which would benefit the community as a whole the most.
So, to put this in simplified terms, when it comes to ethics of a revolutionary community, should their be set moral codes (laws and very strong cultural norms) to increase efficiency and simplify the "justice" system or have decentralized ethics where the situation determines what is "right" or "wrong"? For example, morality would say that cold blood murder is "wrong" 100% of the time and decentralized ethics would say that we should look at the situation before determining if cold blood murder is "wrong".
