    Default Help with Organisations in Finnland

    Yo guys, i need some help. I got a friend of mine who lives in finnland interessted in radical politics. She isnt a socialist or anything yet, but she is very interessted.

    Does any of you know groups around vantaa / helsinki that are active and doing decent work? she checked out attac and some KommNL (or something like that) local group she didnt like.

    any help is much appreciated

    Sorry, no knowledge. Would have said kommNL (or what there name are) but otherwise. No idea. Dont know the ML Movement in finland.

    Good idea, the Finnish KomNL (Communist Youth League) has a discussion forum. I would recommend asking there.

    Maybe it's old new by now, but anyway I think what choice you have around Helsinki area is basically:

    - KomNL (general communist, member of WFDY, for what it's worth)

    - Sosialistiliitto (explicitly IST type trotskyist, not really a youth organisation, but I think the people there are relatively young)

    - Vasemmistonuoret (youth organisation of the left-wing soc.dem party Vasemmistoliitto [Left League].. well they're no revolutionary, but have good stuff on Palestine, anti-racism etc.. so if the friend is not prepared for Lenin etc., I think it's better she finds something useful to do in Vasemmistonuoret, if the alternative is doing nothing at all.

    About anarchist stuff I don't know.
