I think what Chavez is arguing goes back to the fact that the airwaves belong to the people. It should be the people in charge of what they want to listen to or not. Without that how can the exchange of ideas be freely flown whether it's with the press, airwaves or any other type of media. I think having a free press is a huge part of having democracy or not. One of the key requirements with the Carter Center and doing election monitoring is that every candidate has the same amount of media access and is one reason why his center doesn't monitor elections here because we don't have that. Look at the talk radio media here. Most of it is conservative. I think Mr. Pancho said it all.
