The community is growing and as you may have experienced the current system couldn't handle the amount of users several times now ('CGI limits reached' error).
That means that it's pretty urgent to have an own dedicated server for Che-Lives. Since this would totally boost the hosting costs I need your help!

I have found a good German hoster which is offering a U.S. based dedicated Server with 50 GB transer volume for 150 Euros per month. Plus the additional costs (Domains etc.) it would be about 175 Euros (=150 US$) per month.

The 150 Euros are the monthly rent for the server. I'm not planning to buy a server now. When I can't pay the monthly bill I'll probaply get a few overdue notices, the server will be closed sometime and finally the baliff will knock my door...

If you got a T3 line and installed PHP, Perl and CGI and stuff onto your computer, you could turn your computer into a server and stay connected 24/7.

Rainbeaux, you can get a money order from the post office but I don't know how good that is in Germany. You could ask at the post office and see if they can tell you. Agreed, don't send money in the mail.

I have no credit card, no euros or US dollars. The last mail I sent to europe I have no Idea if it arrived. I could send brit pounds though.
