But if you want a ton of concrete info on neoliberal imperialist adventures of the U.S. and their horrific effects on the Third World, I recommend Year 501 by Noam Chomsky. The section on Latin America changed my life forever. It is 14 years old, but still relevant. The only thing that has changed is that things are more globalized today.
