Well, I'd like to know a little this and that...
I've never been to one, I missed the one last year where people were marching on Hiroshiman's anniversary.
But, let's take this example. Here is a demonstration against McDonalds. Some of people remain calm, just walking with their flags, and some are crashing windows and stuff.
Some of those "vandals" are there to swoh their opinion, some are there just for fun.
And the sad part is, that if there is a tv interviev, they interview the "I'm here for the party"-guys.
But, how do you feel? Does it make any difference, if you blast a stone throught McDonalds's window? What will it change?
I never really understood that. As big as McDonald's is, they only have to fix that window, and there it is. Of course it costs money, but not that much that it would be a great loss.
If somebody understood a word of my tired stuff, I'm really proud of myself.
Ignore the typos.

Its more about bringing awareness to the public.
Vandalism is probably bad for a cause because it will make the public discredit you immediately
'Gap is crap' etc.
I was on MANY demonstrations in 1999, during the bombardment.
In Belgrade there was a concert every day on the main square. It was great. There were so many people… It makes you feel so strong, and you aren’t afraid of anything any more.
And at night we were standing on the bridges, “protecting” them. Since they destroyed the bridges in some other towns, we hoped to save ours. Maybe it was silly… if they decided to destroy them, we would all be killed, but in the war you don’t think that way. Anyway it’s better to spend the night outdoors, among the people than to be in some dirty hiding place.
About the vandalism once I watched the people destroying the American library. They were throwing computers and chairs through the windows on the second floor. They were enraged and I can fully understand it.

LMAO. I'm sorry. I'm not going to cry because some stupid window got broken. I'm all for knocking out the windows and vandalyzing corporations. If they get freaked out enough, maybe they'll stop opressing people in third world countries. Smash them!

Yeah, man, nothing like a little "shock therapy" to loosen up the masses...
The prolonged barrage engulfed Zero-One in the glow of a thousand suns. But unlike their former masters with their delicate flesh, the machines had little to fear of the bombs' radiation and heat. Thus did Zero-One's troops advance outwards in every direction. And one after another, mankind surrendered its territories. So the leaders of men conceived of their most desperate strategy yet. A final solution: the destruction of the sky.

Just breaking that window doesnt do shit they'll just fix it. And that money doesnt come out of the CEO's paycheck. The workers have to pay for that window you broke. We have to do more than just a little shock therapy

that show you how the communist movment is deing. most of the people in the demostrations are not there because off their ideology but for the party.
This wasnt about the communist movement and those I'm here for the party- guys arent really communists
ND, what is it thats got you so headfucked? What don't you understand about "us"?
Captain Blackadder: You see, Baldrick, in order to prevent war two great super-armies developed. Us, the Russians and the French on one side, Germany and Austro-Hungary on the other. The idea being that each army would act as the other's deterrent. That way, there could never be a war.
Private Baldrick: Except, this is sort of a war, isn't it?
Captain Blackadder: That's right. There was one tiny flaw in the plan.
Lieutenant George: O, what was that?
Captain Blackadder: It was bollocks.
I suppose it's true...sometimes it's herd behaviour, sometimes it's curiosity or something else. But a thousand people standing together in the street is much more impressive than a polite rebuttal in parliament, methinks.
I'm not advocating Molotov cocktails or clobbering peaceful doughnut-loving policemen, I'm saying that people tend to sit up and notice those things better than the often lacklustre gestures made by politicians, a projection of the lack of transparency and overwhelming bureaucracy of day-to-day governance.
