We have been dealing lately with "short stories" in my class, and we were told to find a short story and read it to the class, so I decided to make it a bit more interesting and pick a short story that brings out the downside of capitalism.
Now the town I'm living in has for generations passed on this 'ignorant' stylish behaviour. My town is having some economical problems along with most of the other towns in Finland, and is therefore increasing the taxing for most of the things only to invest its money into something that the society does not need instead of re-newing water lines, infrastructure and such.
I've been thinking about getting a short story of a low living standard family somewhere in europe, that is being oppressed by the capitalistic society, as involving any "third world" nation into this would only get me anwsers like "That's in Iraq! This is Finland, who cares about them!".
I'm the only communist in my school, and my intentions with this small story is to bring forward the downside of the capitalistic system, instead of talking good of communism which will get me ignorant faces and un-motivated arguments.
I've been looking on google for some short stories that takes place in a poor worker family, but without results, therefore I need your help, comrades.

Just finished watching "Land and Freedom", gonna watch "Bread and Roses" soon, great movies to be honest.
But it still doesn't help me with my initital request, seeing as it has to be a small story, seeing as trying to cut of 95% of the movie into a small story doesn't bring forward anything, compared to a short and easily understandable story :blush:
