Now the only part of the world where large numbers of people are actually atheist...is Europe.
And Northeast Asia, and Oceania, and Canada, and actually many regions in the U$A like the Northeast and the urban areas, and South Africa, and

(anti-religious propaganda) alienate(s) large numbers of workers who are de facto agnostics but still consider themselves religious.
The only real middle ground among non-agricultural nations I can tell, where few attend church and there is a vague religious sentiment, is Latin America and maybe Israel.

But the trend is there is identical to Western Europe 40 years ago or parts of the U$A. The younger generation could care less about religion and it is the old-timers that are put-off by religion.

Even in many places there, as Dean points out, the only way the church remains at all relevant is if it takes up the mantle of social emancipation and has a very unorthodox view of "God".

I am trying to persuade you that lies may be useful to the revolutionary cause
Can you give us an example? I've tried to come up with a few (we will win this time, this union card will make all the difference, etc..) but on closer examination they don't hold.

While it also does that, I like ad that it also uses part of its acquired wealth to take over secular functions. That is monopolise and run socially neccesary work under its auspices (vying for all sorts of social wellfare tasks) - thus buying political capital. Much like when the state runs education and healthcare - or like when the Black Panther Party ran its free breakfeast programs.

Organized Religion is inherirently imperialist in nature, private belief should be advocated and organized religion should be drained of most, if not all, of its material wealth which has fed its power. Hell I'd even advocate for religious buildings to be stripped of all their public symbols.

Oh, and as an atheist, the idea of God and faith are lies used to pacify the working class and render them docile in the face of state authority. I'm sure the Bush administration took some active measures in line of this to use religious institutions to support martial law etc.

That video, on the topic, was lame. God needs better Special-FX people, or upgrade to photoshop 7. Fucking fail.
The Left is an outstretched hand, each finger being a political division amongst itself. The best we can do is slap capitalism in the face, insult it, nothing more.
The worst, we can poke it as individual fingers, doing nothing other than having it laugh at our face.
Close the hand, form a fist, knock the greedy bastard out for the count.
    unity.
