The canteen at our school has ridiculously high prices, which recently went up again. Myself and a few mates thought it would be a good idea to organise a boycott of the school canteen, hopefully involving most of the school in order to get the prices lowered again.

What do you think the best tactics are for such a non-violent protest?

And how would be the best way to organise it?

Surely they can't stop people from NOT going to the canteen.

We've worked out that they would lose about £2500 per day if about half the people that goto the canteen boycotted it.

    Any ideas?

Distribute leaflets including comparisons between the Canteen prices and other types of lunch such as bringing your own?

Get a lot of people together and organise a sit in, take up the seats in the canteen and then they won't be able to serve food as they have no where to seat people. It will hit the canteen in the pocket and that is where change will spur from.

If it's a public school, I can guarantee they raised prices because public schools have no money.
