I live in Sacramento and I know very little people who give a shit about leftist politics, much less people who are willing to fight with us. I want to hold and/or participate in local demonstrations but it seems that the scene isnt supportive enough and I'd be at a lack of bodies. Doesn't work too well if you go out by yourself with a gas mask and a picket sign =p

How do i stimulate the local scene, or find more people that share my beliefs?

It is always a good idea to find common ground first.
Do not go into too much politics, find out what peoples concerns really are. Read the local paper. Find an issue you can take some affirmative action on. Write a letter
analyse feedback. The key is persistence.

Man's dearest possession is life, and since it is given to him to live but once.He must so live that dying he can say, all my life and all my strength have been given to the greatest cause in the world, the liberation of mankind
    Ostrovski

    Muriel Spark:

If I had my life to live over again I should form the habit of nightly composing myself to thoughts of death. I would practice, as it were, the remembrance of death. There is no other practice which so intensifies life. Death, when it approaches, ought not to take one by surprise. It should be part of the full expectancy of life. Without an ever-present sense of death life is insipid. You might as well live on the whites of eggs.

sigh.. california isnt much on protests.. LA and San Francisco are the only marked cities on that site, both of which are a few hours away from here (sacramento). looks like i'll be moving to the bay area in a few years if people dont wake up here.

lol, u think its hard there? its hell in north west of england. At the moment the BNP (british national party) is very popular with many slap heads. Its like an infestation. I get beaten up for how i dress/act. Persuading people that left wing is better than right wing is not only near impossible but very dangerous. However i will not give up!

any ideas though as to how change peoples view on left/right, coz its getting dangerous
Captain Blackadder: You see, Baldrick, in order to prevent war two great super-armies developed. Us, the Russians and the French on one side, Germany and Austro-Hungary on the other. The idea being that each army would act as the other's deterrent. That way, there could never be a war.
Private Baldrick: Except, this is sort of a war, isn't it?
Captain Blackadder: That's right. There was one tiny flaw in the plan.
Lieutenant George: O, what was that?
    Captain Blackadder: It was bollocks.
