In a sense it's infiltration of the media, even if only on a small scale. It's still publicity and it can be useful for promotion of whatever your cause may be. Many of us cant afford to hold pirate radio stations or lack a local scene strong enough to hold demonstrations. But stealing advertisement from corporate giants and using it in favor of the revolution seems to me to be the next best thing.
