    legal squatting is entirely possible, however it is a very strict regime, at least in canada. i'm not sure of the regime elsewhere though.

    Here in the UK we have what is known as squatters rights, I'm not entirely certain of the details but I do know that if you remain in a property for a certain length of time and their is no objection then the property becomes your's.

    el commandante it seems to be very much like the canadian system (gee imagine that).

    in canada you have to be there for 10 years and you have to live there openly without objection. if its crown land you have to have control for 50 years. its really strict thought.
