I know from people that I have spoken to in my school that there are many people not keen about going on demos because their parents may not approve or they feel that they won't be safe.

I respect that view but if you have the same feelings that I mentioned above and want the war to end you can do your bit. You can write letters to your head of state telling them that you are not happy with the countries involvement in the war. If you are approached with a poll on the streets or in the home tell them that you don't approve of the war, get the opinion polls to swing in favour of piece.
