SUNY (state univeristy of New York) College Greens and SUNY Campus Acton got together Monday January 27th 2003 to perform what is known as a 'Die In'... something that is being dupicated across the countery in response to George W. Bush's proposed war on Iraq. The objective is to shock students as they pass by and hand them literature that states, "You have now been drafted by the United States (anti) War department as a demonstrator for peace." The objective is to shock students out of their apathetic attitude to the Presidents murderous Foreign policy, while providing literature with clear straight up facts about the proposed war.

The following is a series of photos of Campus Acton and Green Party activists.

There where a number of students who stopped to ask what was going on. Interestingly enough, all, or most of the International students where concerned as to what was transpiring, while about half of the New York Native Students started to walk the other direction upon seeing we where handing out literature. (god forbid we asked them to read something).

I think the fridgid tempature added to the low number of participants and people numbers of people who asked questions. It was only 4 degrees fahrenheit Which is equivalent to: -15.5 degrees celsius
    .
We might have had more affect if it was in California or another warm climate.

It's a really good idea; maybe we could do something like that here in Britain. I don't know how effective it would be though.
