Antifa Hekto decided to join this years pride with glamour and parade. This years Stockholm Pride gathered around 50 000 patricipants and acording to police around 300 000 spectators! It was the biggest march against homophobia in solidarity for homosexuals and transgenders in scandinavia ever!
Many people in the left movements and right, tend to forget that Pride holds its roots in a three day protest against Homophobia and racism called "The march on Stone wall". When riot police attacked a gay club in New York called The Sonewall inn the participants anwered with bottles, stones and coins. This resulted in the biggest rebellion the gay- and transgenders ever seen. Organised they pushed back the police several times for days defending the right for free sexuality.
The original Pride in the late 60s was not only a fight against homofobia but also a fight against fascism. Fascism that claims that people are only allowed to have one sexuality - hetrosexuality. Just like now the police of the 60s were a racist and fascist force that discriminated blacks, immigrants and homosexuals. Original pride didn't fight only for homosexuals rights but also for freedom of choice for all the people of the world. Pride was built from the fire and ashes of one of our times most sucessful protests and riots, though there are still parts of the world where fascists states attack the march. As a leftwing, to claim not wanting to join the march because of the huge liberal influenses is plain stupid. Pride is not about politics, it's about sexuality and and the freedom to chose wether you'r gay or not and not to be controled by norm. Regardless of skincolor, religion, gender, class or political disposition.
We started off as 15 people with antifa-shirts and gathered at Humleparken around 13:40 and ended being 50 people 19:00. Peoples' reactions against us were amazing and nothing we ever anticipated. Everything from throwing roses to people wanting to take pictures with us. Every big group of people we passed shouted "here comes AFA!" and then welcomed our presence. It was amazing. At first we weren't sure if we would be able to participate because the police surrounded us but after a long disscusion and negotiatons they let us go. Even today 38 years later, homosexuals still get discriminated - even on pride day it seams as police didn't want us walking in the parade, the irony. Besides our low number of around 20 pepople most of our block was infected by police keeping a tight watch on us, provocing as usal, so to see that we dit not do anything out of the ordinary. We had between 6 - 12 civil cops and 3 cars following as our tail. They were so inclined with us in fact they missed the 5 - 10 Nazis that were the actual threat to the parade. And instead of arresting them, some of the people guarding the parade were arrested instead.
We danced with our flags for 5 hours and starting with 15 we ended the parade at Tanto park, also called Gay Park with 50 people walking in our block dancing, kissing and just having plain fun in the name of homosexuality. After 5 hours of dancing and having almost no water to drink one would think we would be exhausted, wrong the night was only young. Later on that night we confronted a small group of nazis that had gather in a nearby park for some "qeerbashing" and it fast turned in to "nazibashing" which made them all leave the park running and bleeding, hopefuly thinking over the fact they got their ass kicked by a bounch of gay-antifas, ouch boys! All in all the day was a success for us in Antifa Hekto and we hope that more people will join us next year!

Earlier this day, a group of nazis from the National Socialist Front were confronted by antifa-activists from various groups such as the AFS (Antifa Stockholm, former Antifascist Skinheads) and the AFA. Most fascist quickly fled the area, but some, including a leading nazi, were confronted and sent to the hospital.

Sounds good! I'm glad AFA was there in solidarity, but also had fun with it. I wish they would come to the pride marches in our area. Anyway, great job!
