Le punk and le jazz

I thought it made the most sense to ask this question in the french forum as everything is classified male or female in French as I understand it.
So is it la punk or le punk
la jazz or le jazz?
Are different genres different genders? Are they classified such as how masculine or feminine they sound?
I apologise this is in English.
