This is a ink to information on a documentary in 1968 about a teacher in an all-white town that decided to teach her students the horrors of discrimination. She told them that the people with blue-eyes were superior to the brown-eyed kids and segregated the two. She said the opposite the next day. The results were outstanding. Not only did the children soak up hatred so fast and so viscerialy, their academic scores went up or down according to their association with the "superior group" of that particular day. Yes, it was an amazing story.

There have been other studies like it since with the same kinds of results. One I recall reading about involved college kids divided into "prisoners" and "guards"...the experiment had to be terminated abruptly because the "guards" were showing signs of emerging sadism.

You can see why this kind of science usually doesn't qualify for any research grants..."some things were not meant for man to know". :cheesy:

    I really admire that womam.

It's a great experiment wich should be used on every student in a proper way. It's a very efficient way to wipe out discrimination.
Let no one charge that socialists have arrayed class against class in this struggle. That has been done long since in the evolution of capitalist society. One class is small and rich and the other large and poor....One consists of capitalists and the other of workers. These two classes are at war. Every day of peace is at the expense of labor. There can be no peace and good will between these two essentially antagonistic economic classes. - Debs

Very interesting and informative. What I found most upsetting was during the adult seminar, when Mrs. Elliot pointed out the fact that only part of half of the blue-eyed group decided to speak out, and the other half decided to just keep quiet, as to avoid attention to themselves. This happens too much, my friend refused to go to the anti-war protests, because it wouldn't make a difference, America would go to war anyways. Anyways, thanks Boricano, watching that was probably the most intelligent thing I did all weekend.

I agree with death b4 dishonour, I found that point to really stick out, I'm guilty of having done that before, keeping quiet while a friend or someone is being teased or being discriminated against and me knowing that I'm not different than my friend or whoever but not sticking up for him/her. Now when I see someone being discriminated against I will stick up for them if it's the right thing to do, not keep quiet like the rest.

    Good point.

I found it very interresting to see how a group of adults who worked with each other for so long, could get influenced in their opinion about the others in just an hour.

It also reflected our society, the qiuet group which keeps qiuet to don't meet consequences.(blue group)

The passionate group(in the brown eyed group), which found it OK what happend, because they got advantage, but felt a little bit sorry.

The real teasers. They quikly notice that they have a advantaged situation and really abuse that for their own effort(brown eyed group)

And the resisters, they don't tolerate it and do as much as possible to get their rights, I saw only one of them. The womam which spoke out every time(blue eyed group).
