Who do you think was the most brutal and evil dictator of Latin America, region plagued by Dictatorships supported by the CIA.

My pic is Rafael Trujillo of the Dominican Republic, who ruled from 1930-1961 with his CIA assassination. His son, Ramfis, succeeded him and sought revenge on the killers, then Juan Bosch was democratically elected, but replaced by a Trujillo puppet, Joaquin Balaguer, who died just last year. Not only did Trujillo rule DR politics for decades while he was alive, but decades after, because his political machine was still on life-support.

Trujillo. Period. He was a north american puppet that governed for 30 years, and his protege continued to do the same. He created monopolies for most of the industries, because he got whatever he wanted, he just removed them. And because he was a military leader at first, most expeditions to erradicate him failed. Damm him. And he got to be about the 6th richest man in the world.

Trujillo was a racist. He held a secret operative to "preserve the Dominican race" (ie: Make the Dominican Republic seem "whiter"). He had over 5,000 Haitians killed for trying to cross the boarder and tried to enforce an apartheid-esque puppet government in Haiti with Lescott (a light-skinned man) as ruler. Lescott was overtrhown by Duvalier. A "lesser of two evils" than Trujillo but a bastard nevertheless.
