If you kept reading, you will see who he was. the first chapter was only an introduction. the second chapter(when they talked about the situation at the time)was kind of boring, but in the third chapter(the childhood of vlad)the story becomes more interesting, and from the fourth chapter(the first rule of vlad)the story become fascinating. in short, vlad the impaler was the real historical figure on which the story of dracula is based.
