Killing is wrong, but so is monarchy. I really have no specific meaning about it.

He was a boy who did something quite stupid and changed the world with it. Well, I guess that the WW would have started anyway, for another reason but I still can't think that the thing he did was not that important.

of course it was right... we should take our destiny in our own hands... maybe it would be good if some of todays world leaders get killed, to protect all inocent people no matter what natio or religion they are

I have always been looking up stuff on this guy!! I swear i was looking for something like this.

Isnt it interesting... he had abandoned the plan to kill the archduke but it just so happened the archduke took an alternate route to avoid too many people(and another assasination attempt)

It just so happened that he was walking out of a barbershop when the archduke was coming. He ran in front of the coach and fired to(or 3?) shots without aiming. Both were fatal.

Although anationalist... i have no problems with the man. He stuck with what he believed until the bitter end.

I like the idea of taking out some elitist snob like the archduke, it sent a message of defiance to all those imbred monarchs.

But, If you consider that his asassination started WW1, and that WW1 started WW2, and that WW2 started the Cold War, and the Cold War started the War on Terrorism; then you start to feel kinda angry about it.

I dont like this guy. He was Serb nationalist, not anarchist, socialist or some avanthguard idealist. He killed archduke only because he wanted Bosnia and Hercegovina to became part of great monarchist Serbia.
Belgrade funded his terorist organization. He was 100% loyal to Serb monarchy so he wasnt anti-monarchist either.

Today in Bosnia and Herzegovina he is so unpopular that in Sarajevo during the war they removed his statue as a simbol of Serb pretensions.
I think most of you people are misinformed about certain historical facts about former Yugoslavia.

i think that ww1 was going to happen anyway. two nations (and their allies) had guns to each others heads, it just needed somtething to set it off.
