today i read an article named "The House of Saud's days are numbered" in the 'Albany Times Union'. It was about the United States going to war with Iraq, and about the Saudi Arabian regime. As we have witnessed in Afghanistan, an entire regime overthrown after the chase of one man. But after the Taliban was overthrown, now "Saudi Arabia is the Islamic world's most rigorous theocracy" ~George Will| If this is true, is the United States on a modern day crusade to wash away the cruel inhumanities of the world of Islam? Through my eyes, it is... God save the queen, i mean, Islam...

well, i wouldnt jump to conclusions. It is true that all of the countries that we bomb sponsor terrorism, but if we were to bomb all of those countries, we would have to bomb germany and a whole shitload of other countries as well.

well, we all know the u.s. sponsors terrorists through...well...a lot of things, like buying oil that the profits go to the terrorists from and giving money to israel, which goes towards weapons used for suppression. The u.s. gave al qaeda $26 million to "stop drugs", and al qaeda turned around and financed bin laden. i would also like to point out that being a terrorist is not necessarily a bad thing. for example, che was a terrorist.

The concept of a modern day Crusade isn't really that far-fetched...The so-called "Arab-Israeli" conflict that sells so many newspapers is nothing more than a continuation of the Crusades of the Middle-Ages...infighting between the three monotheistic religions hasn't ever stopped, and all three religions prophesize a parallel sort of Armageddon, in which the Muslims, Jews and Christians fight on Holy soil. Now, wild guess, but where do you think that Holy Land is at??
The prolonged barrage engulfed Zero-One in the glow of a thousand suns. But unlike their former masters with their delicate flesh, the machines had little to fear of the bombs' radiation and heat. Thus did Zero-One's troops advance outwards in every direction. And one after another, mankind surrendered its territories. So the leaders of men conceived of their most desperate strategy yet. A final solution: the destruction of the sky.

    I found this very strange.
I would like to know why you classify Che as a terrorist?

Because he disagreed with the US.

Disagreeing with the U.S. does not make you a terrorist.

Well through the eyes of the U.S. media and most of U.S. society disagreeing with the U.S. makes a person a terrorist.

What I was saying is that this is not true.
You agree with me don't you?

    I wouldn't really call it a crusade.
a crusade is a war to promote christianity...
George Bush is not even a real Christian

Yes, I agree with you. I was only making a (poor) joke in my own anti-Yankee way.

He's backed by a large number of religious fundamentalists in the US.

    I live in Saudi Arabia.
and most people here think that the US is waging a what you would call a modern day crusade
    but I disagree...
all what the US wants is the riches of the Middle East.
They might want people to grow out of their religion not to spread Christianity, but to tear down all those Islamic laws that conflict with the american benefits.
    That is what I think.

A Crusade isn't neccesarrily a war to spread Christianity, A Crusade is a war to spread an idea or achieve something which you believe is absolutely right.
