Armenian Genocide - Comments??

How do you feel on about the Turkish governments up to and including today's government refusing to recognize the fact that there ever was an armenian genocide? i mean where the hell did 1.5+ million armenians go? For those who dont know about it...go to www.armeniangenocide.com to see more info. The armenians resided on both sides of the russian-turkish border.

Its was pretty much an extermination of the armenians by the Turks because they thought the armenians were becoming too advanced. I call it fear in the turks part.

Yes.
I know the quote from Hitler, just before sending his troops into Poland, he said, "Go, go kill without mercy. Who today remembers the extermination of the Armenians."
And when Heath Lowry, chairperson of Princeton University's Ataturk Turkish studies departmen was approached by Armenian community activists with a copy of a petition signed by more than a hundred of America's leading academic and literary figures condemning his efforts to discredit scholarship on the Armenian Genocide, he said, "Shove it up your ass, how's that?"
One thing i dont understand...Why is it that we could interefere when Hitler oppressed people but even though we new Turkey was oppressing the Armenians, we did NOTHING. And if you wish to complain and say that we didnt know this was happening, we did. The Armenian Genocide was witnessed by hundreds of American missionaries in the Ottoman Empire who worked among the Armenians and have testified to their destruction by the Ottoman government. The Genocide was also witnessed by American consular officials, stationed in the areas inhabited by the Armenians, who reported it to the American ambassador in Istanbul.

The first thing I say about the Armenian Genocide is that it was not the first genocide of the century, The Herero Genocide in Namibia in 1904 was and nearly 80% of them died. The German government still calls it "our unfortunate involvement in Namibia", not what it was, a genocide.

But on the Armenian genocide, I have found so much anti-Armenian shit on the internet. I mean anti-Jewish stuff is easy to find, just go through race hate websites. But after going on http://www.genocide.org I found this website http://www.ataa.org/ataa/ref/arm_fcta.html which tries to justify the Armenia genocide on the basis of murder commited by Armenians (I could list some that Turks did) and underrates the full scale of the Armenian Genocide.

Then I found some which are Azeri websites which have genuine grievences about Armenian actions during the Armenian-Azerbaijani war. But destroy their cause with anti-Armenian propaganda.

The worst thing was, this stuff was on their main section, not in their hate sites section.

It seems the Armenians are like the Jews, They become successful, so people hate them, then someone decides to kill a load of them, then people start denying it happened and start saying how bad the Armenians are and the Armenians can't do anything about it because it proves the anti-Armenians right. It's sad really.

It just shows how easily some things are forgotten....

For example the destruction of the native North American People by settlers and the further oppression and assimilation of their culture by the American government.

Native American massacres are the genocides that bother me the most. The jews are still a strong people, and I assume many armenians still exist. But there are very few Native Americans.

Yes.
I do think that the Native Amercian Massacre was a very brutal and unfair one. I think that no one realizes how it is to one day have a bunch of white guys on horses strole into town. then kill all the buffalo (not only the food and supply of the Native American but their deity and what they worshipped), then take their land and if they refuse to move...kill them on the spot. Oh and those reserves...i like to call em "Happy Concentration Camps".

I am not forgetting anything the Armenians did, nor am i excusing anything they did. My complaint is the ignorance that the Turkish government is displaying by not only deny-ing that it ever happened, but giving no remorse, showing no sorrow, and not even apologizing for anything that heppened to them. And how much do the jews get for the holocaust?????

They get sonstant TV specials, movies, their own country, and remorse from ALOT of people. I find tht unfair.

How many times were you called a nazi?
It seems to be a fun thing to call people...along with bougouis....they seem to used as insults the same way you would call people stupid or a moron.
But back to the subject....I do think that many atrocities have been comitted to large amount of people and not many have been given the recongition that should be given.
I dont remember the last time i saw a rememberance TV special or a dedication by some public representative to slaughters and massacres taking place in Africa.
My mother is a nurse in a hospital that deals with children that have severe disorders/deformities/injuries and there was a small 8 yr old child who originally live in Africa ( i forget where). One day a group of men walked in and hacked everyone to death with large machetties(spelling) and swords. His familiy was sliced to death right in front of him. He had an arm severed. And these people get no rememberance. even though it has been on TV only on a documentary.
