As many of you know, scientists think that all of humanity was once from Africa, people traveled away, and now we are all over the globe and have adapted and evolved to our new environments.
Over the course of time geological barriers had separated many groups of humans. Only within the last few hundred years have we been able to communicate with everyone on earth. The whole of humanity is conscious of itself, but we are still a divided species. I believe that because we are now aware of everyone, soon we will all be reunited.
Just as Europe is joining together economically today, one day it will be joined politically. The small tribes that once controlled the areas of the planet have grown towards each other and there are no empty or unclaimed territories (excluding Antarctica).
A simple look at history can be explained as "Humanity separated, populated, grew, reunited". Of course the "reuniting" part is my prediction for the future. The nations of our planet will either make a peace and share resources or fight till the uncooperative nations are destroyed. It is my theory that earth will be united one way or another, but as for now we are in the dark ages of humanity.

well first of all europe is alredy joining politicaly! Eu ias not only economical, is political too, and what you are talking about is future, this forum is suposed to be about history! well it isnt that simple! well first of all there wount be a "pacifully reunition" because the world resources will soon disepear and there cant be any possible shareing of resources cause there will be not enough resources for everyone, soo it wount be only the uncooperative countrys that will be gone! its appening with petroil, do you think that petroil is being distribuet equaly? no america keeps all he cans, Britain keeps all it cans, and the countrys that have petroil in theyr territiry are at war (except China, russia, america etc)! see its happening with the petroil it will hap+en the same with everything else!

I agree that the world is more likely to be destroyed by humanity than united.

Twice already there have been darkages, and both times it seemed highly unlikely there would be one- Who thought that after the fall of the mightiest empire in the world and probably on of the most advanced, the same area would become so backwards and isolated. And who the myceneans woudl suddenly be destroyed, along with the formidable Hittite empire. A dark age will come, and it isn't as far off as many think(that is, unless the whole wolrd becomes communist or somehting)

Yes, there have been many civilizations that have risen and eventually fallen. And dark ages of different sorts and intensity have come and gone as well.

But I am truly concerned about what could be the dark ages of tomorrow. Never before has environmental damage been so severe, and there is an honest chance that by the time the current empire of Western imperialism, overconsumption, and resource exhaustion is through, it won't leave much for any new civilization to build on. If the ozone is allowed to disappear altogether, the ice caps allowed to melt, the global temperature allowed to rise and rise, toxic and nuclear waste continued to be dumped wherever is easy and inexpensive, and more and more species are allowed to go extinct, one really has to wonder how any new civilization will even be able to breathe, drink the water, or grow crops. And if you add the nuclear war possibilities to all this, the next dark ages could be very dark indeed.

But most have their faith in technology to save us at the last minute. I guess that makes people feel better right now.
"If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are people who want crops without ploughing the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning; they want the ocean without the roar of

yes, the darkage which might have to be endured by our posterity would probably have to live through the worst dark age ever.

Going back to the first post in this thread....

...... I belive it is a satement of Ymir's belief that human nature resides in that which is most primeval, and therefore, because we have all come from one tribe, wouldn't it be natural for us to eventually become one big worldwide tribe?

For some strange reason, I'm reminded of a twilight zone epesode where people who are arguing in the United Nations are visited by an alien creature. The alien said that they are disappointed in how the humans have behaved since they have created them and will give them 24 hours to mend their ways....

.... the next day the aliens arive to see that the humans have negotiated the seemingly impossible, they have created world peace....

... the Aliens become furious and say, " See we knew you where inherently weak! We created you to be warriors and destroy eachother... yet you have this inherent flaw that makes you lust for peace!

I think that the more technelogiclly advanced we become, the closser we are to eachother, and the more we know/learn about fellow humans.

i think that if a reunion were to occur, 100% agreeance would need to happen. and in my oppinion, i would have to say that will never happen. people will always rebel, no matter what the stance is. thats just what happens. im all for a better change, and i hope that there is a majority that feel the same way. but thats all i can hope for, Majority.

Redceltic: the more technological advanced mankind is, the more cruel it is, Primitive wars were bad, but Bronze age armys were even worst, but the roman legions were even worst, and so the Midle ages armys were even worst, has the nappoleon wars were even + worst, has WWI was true hell, But it was almost nothing compared to WWII, has WWII is nothing compared with the fear of Nuclear wars, has it will bow to some other type of war, the more we evolve the bether ways we invent to kill, are we really evoling? or just trying to destroy ourselfs? few are the inventions used for good, has the microwaves was used to make weapons, then someone remembered to make microwaves to heat food, has Einstein wanted to make a new type of energy, it was used for war, has many other things that we think that it is for our own good, when it is alredy being used to kill!
