Hey, I just wanted to posit a larger point (figured either this or discrimination was the right forum to go for). i think that antifa and antiracist work against the extreme white pride/white power movements and other overt or genuine fascists around the world is important work for a number of reasons, but what about analogous groups. for the most part, when we speak of neonazis and neofascists, were talking about small, nonstate, largely noncorporate political groups that are fighting for white power/white nationalist ambitions.
on the more obvious scale (in the usa), this includes nsm, kkk, ccc, aryan nations, national alliance, and a number of other groups. wisely, many consider neocon groups like protest warrior and rightmarch.com, as well as antiimmigrant groups like minuteman and civilian border patrol to be fair game.
i wanted to posit an even more powerful, mainstream sector fighting for white power, and with the advantage that these groups are almost exclusively upper-middle to upper class and mostly white. they call themselves neighborhood associations, neighborhood coalitions and others, and theyre main activities are often grounded around pushing gentrification, police harassment of poor people of color, and other evils. anybody else interested in widening the territory of antira work to include groups like this, that are not fascist, but very racist and classist (which isnt a bad thing, but their classism can help create classism among workers and lumpens)
