I think it's the whole concept that the West triumphed over them (collapse of USSR) and a general disillusionment in Marxism that has made many turn to nationalism.
It's an often overlooked fact, however, that anarchism is on the rise in Russia as well.

I think neo nazism is popular in russia because it appeals to the antisemetic ideals of tsarist russia, you know the pogroms pale of settlement and all of that. I think they just like to forget about the slavs being inferior and all that other nazi bullshit

One of my friends listened to Skrewdriver and other Nazi punk bands (though he isn't fascist nor nationalist). He did some research about that. It's interesting that Neo-Nazis, while crediting Hitler, seek unification of all whites (Germans,Slavs etc etc) against "slave" races (and of course, all Nazis are idiots).

You all seem lost so I'll try and explain Russian nazis:
It is odd to find nazi Slavs, but there are growing numbers now. Russia isn't in a great state atm, people are poor and unemployment is high. Russia have relatively few immigrants for the last 60 years and so is still very white (like all of Eastern Europe), this means that any immigrant which do come will be rare and can easily be blamed for the current problems that Russian people are facing.
Putin's not doing much to stop the rise of these fascist groups; if they attack people they are only charged with hooliganism, not with GBH or even murder, this is hardly a crime at all and so getting away with it is making the problem bigger.
The Russians nazis do not "worship" Hitler in the same way as other nazis in the western Europe. Russian nazis look up to Hitler because he tried to keep his country for Germans, and the Russians are trying to keep it for Russians - they link with him in this. Another reason is what Hitler did to Jews. A great deal of the high level "communists" in the USSR were Jews, if a Russian person doesn't see a Jew as a Russian then they act the same towards Jews as towards other foreigners - ie. they want them out. Hitler got Jews out. Therefore they acknowledge Hitler. Russia was once one of the most powerful countries in the world (arguably it still is...), but now that immigrants are entering the Russian nazis see them as a reasonable outlet for their anger. It is much the same in other countries (eg Britain) but in other countries the authorities keep the problems under control. I'm not saying it's the immigrants' fault, but that the nazis see it as being their fault.
You all say about the "Slavs are inferior" thing. That is only parcially true. There were waffen SS corps for many Slavic countries when Nazi Germany was powerful, and so Hitler was ok with having them fight for him there. (I can proudly tell you that there was never a waffen SS for Poland though). I suppose the Russian nazis see this as meaning that if they were around then, then Hitler would have been ok with their groups. One last thing to always remember:
Stalin ALLIED with Hitler.

There was a poll on Stormfront not long ago, asking them which people they thought were white - Slavs had the lowest number of votes.
