ELKHORN, Wis. A man who claims he was an S-S soldier during World War Two says he won't open his Hitler memorial in Walworth County after all.
Ted Junker (yunk'-er) attracted national media attention when reports surfaced he had built a shrine to Germany's infamous leader on his farm near Millard. Junker had planned to open the shrine on Sunday, June twenty-fifth.
But Walworth County officials say today they've talked him out of it, warning him the shrine might violate zoning ordinances and would attract groups of people that could cause trouble, such as white supramcists.
Graves says his deputies will patrol the area on the twenty-fifth and will arrest anyone caught trespassing on Junker's property.
