I find it great that people want to honor him. But I'm not sure what Che would make of this personality cult that has grown around him.

I think that Che would smile at the people admiring him and would say that communist ideas made him the person he is. Also, he may have laughed saying that he had other pics where he was older...

I have tears in my eyes when I think that he could have been alive to say those words...

Where are you from Tanya that you do not know english very well?

Whereabouts in Belfast is that mural redflag?
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain

To tell you the truth I think he'd be both happy, but also annoyed. Happy because of the people that follow his ideals, yet annoyed because his shirts have become a capitalist sham.... <_<

That's a beautifully done mural. I wish I had that kind of skill

And I think Che would be pissed off that his face is being used as a tool for capitalists to make money.

Well, the Lenin statue is just for commercializing a bar called Kremlin. Actually it is pretty sad, a little ironic maybe...

I know that there is a Lenin statue in Seattle and it is not for mocking or commercializing

Beechmount, round the corner from 'Flanigan's Solicitors'. It's opposite the Culturlann if you know that place. Might be a bit tatty now, I can't remember whether they redone it or not

Also BOZG, there's a new Connolly mural on the Falls

No offense here, but i think this is the kind of thing he wouldnt like. Because right there lies a flavor of personality cult.

However despite the personality cult around him, he has become a great symbol of internationalism and the socialist movement. In the Americas however, his symbol seems to be very Pan-American.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the Belfast mural. Which part of the wall is it on?

Not disagreeing with you, but those paintings, flags, ect were not actually for the capitalists. Most were rather pro-left. Its not really helping the capitalists there.
