Thoughts? Comments? Why exactly are these attacks most common in East Germany?
Police have busted the two boneheads. And their sentence will be no less than 20 years for sure.
Although they serve the wrong master i do make a favourable comment to the German police.

The Russian police should for it is a far greater problem in that country than in Germany. But the Russian government doesnt seem to care if a non russian or a non white russian is murder or beaten.
Gennady Zhyuganov must overthrow Putin if Russia is to be saved.
I am from Potsdam / Germany and I think I can say something about the neo-nazis here.
It's right, that in East-Germany that the East is poorer than the West, but not a lot. In East-Germany, more than 20% have no work (Potsdam: 12%). More than 20000 graduates don't get an apprenticeship training position or something else. How we say in German: "Hier ist absolut tote Hose." The people without work get not enough support from the government. And there the NPD (Nationaldemokratische Partei Deutschlands - National-Socialistic Party of Germany) makes a "good" job (I don't like it, but what they do is what the people want). There is a community, with gives the people confidence, ... They makes a lot of stuff. So they get new members, new voters.
It's not because the people lived for more than 40 years in a communistic country (GDR). Many neo-nazis are born after the wall falls. Or they are born in the last years of GDR ... But it's easier for "our" politicans to say, the bad and evil GDR is guilty. They don't search mistakes in their own work, but they makes a lot of!
I think, you should know, that in Potsdam don't live a lot of nazis. In the news they said it's around 100 persons (inhabitants: 144000). They lives in Potsdams suburbs. When I am at this suburbs, I'm wondering how many they are!
I don't know why, but the nazis permanently want to demonstrate in Potsdam. Like last year, novemer 5th, around 300 nazis wanted to demonstrate. But we avoided it. They arived in Potsdam at "Bahnhof Charlottenhof" (the same location where Ermyas Mulugeta was nearly killed last sunday) but had no chance to demonstrate, the street blocked by anti-demonstrators.
But up to now: On friday, april 21st, we had a solidarity rally with 4000 people. It was for Ermyas Mulugeta and against intolerance, ... . It was planned since only two or three days before. I think, when this rally had not been on a workday, it would been a lot of more demonstrators.

Only to know that there are people with such a daffy idea makes me sad.
There are some news: Maybe it was no racism incidence. The observers found out, that the offenders and the victim had an argument in a disco before and all three participants were drunken. The reason why he felt into coma was only one hit onto the left eye/eyebrow/temple. But it's still mysterious.
I'll post any news.
EDIT: But my opinion is an other: I can't believe that there was no racist reason. Here you can download the mailbox-recording (as the offenders start to maul the victim, he tried to phone his wife): audio/x-wav 1.7 MB, audio/mpeg 621.0 KB. All what I hear is how they affront him as a "Nigger" and how Ermyas Mulugeta tried to clear the situation.
