With all the recent protests regarding immigration and with the current state of politics around the word and in the US, I believe its the ideal time for any or all members that reside in Southern California to begin organizing themselves to engage in the "struggle"

I believe that if we organize ourselves and raise a little consciousness at these protests, we can gain comrades and friends to help us change the situation in the US (might sound optimistic, but if we are to succeed, we can't be pessimistic)

So, if there are any socialists/communists/anarchists or any extreme leftists in Southern California, please post so that we can begin to organize ourselves

In Los Angeles there is the call for the Walkout/General Strike/Boycott on May 1st for Immigrant rights. I would begin there - in my experience with this new movement, there is a great deal of optimism because the protests have totally shifted the debate about immigration and have actually pushed back a right-wing attack.

Also, because the movement is on an upsurge, people are really open to talking about politics and what is possible through working class actions.

There are many organized radicals in Los Angeles rangeing from the IWW to the RCP - my advice would be to go to some organizing meetings for May 1st and help to build this event. In doing this you will probably get to know activists who are involved in this struggle and you can see what they are like and what their politics are - there will also be many non-radicals and you would be able to engage them in discussions about radical politcs.

I just moved from Los Angeles to Oakland Ca - damn, I wish I had waited a month or two so I could have gone to that huge protest in LA!
