I think people misread the "parady" part of the oringinal post. I mean, it's obvious (to me at least) that doing this is making fun of the nazis. It's the same as an Iraeli newspaper having it's own holocaust cartoon contest since they "refuse to be beaten by the Iranians."

Ian, you should tone it down just a bit. Using that kind of language isn't helping to get your point across.

Personally? I wouldn't bother since I rarely hear the 14 words and I enjoy other working class slogans better. However, the poster did mention it was a PARODY. The whole point is that it is modeled off of what the facists do because it reveals how utterly ridiculous their whole idealogy is. Perhaps you have heard of satire? It is rather effective, sometimes far more effective than just preaching your side.

Whenever we have discussions in my political science class, for instance, I always reply with answers like "democracy!" or "to defend our freedom!"

People laugh because they realize how silly that reasoning is sometimes and how public officials often use it justify completely irrelevant things.

Can you explain to me the point of appropiating nazi crap? What's the point in making any association with the nazi's at all? We dont need people to make ANY links between anarchism and nazism. When i saw the thread title, and the fact that this thread was in the anti-fascism forum, my first thought was that there some moronic 'anarchist' white supremacist organisation - that's the kind of response you can expect from a lot of people, and this precisely why this is a horrible idea.

I don't want ANYONE, making ANY kind of mistaken link between anarchism and white supremacy, like has already unfortunately happened between anarchists and libertarian capitalists. This is something we can easily avoid, and by appropiating the coded phrases of white supremascists we're only opening ourselves up to this kind of mispresentation/distortion/ignorance.
