Nazi March Through Orlando

The National Socialist Movement tried to march through the city of Orlando and faced significant opposition from the community and anarchists. In the end 17 people were arrested. This article doesn't do a good job of reporting on the incident but it appears as if police may have targeted the counter-demonstrators again while protecting the Nazis.

Before the rally, authorities encouraged counter-demonstrators to stay home, hoping to avoid the violence that occurred when the same group marched through Toledo, Ohio, in October. A riot ensued, during which protesters threw rocks at police and burned down a bar.

The government organized that rally, so that counter-demonstrators get arrested, since they know that they're going to be commies, anarchists and blacks!

NO ONE FROM THE NAZIS ARRESTED, yet 14 Anarchists opposing them were? Complete bullshit. This is the same crap that they pulled in Toledo, Ohio when they blamed the anti-Nazi protests on "black gangs" and on "out-of-towners stirring stuff up".

I had no prior warning of this at all. Did anyone else? If I had been aware, I would've gone to Orlando and joined the counter-demonstration.
It seems that the Nazis marched through a predominantly black neighborhood which caused major controversy. The police had to restrain some of the Nazi supporters but in the end it was the counterdemonstrators who received the most punishment from law enforcement.

Whats the point of demonstrating in a white neighbourhood...... whites have nothing to do with these nazi nuts. By saying things like " Bring the fight home to them. " you are basically generalizing that all whites approve of these nazis :angry:

Word. I was thinking the same thing. On another note, I do think we should "bring the fight home" to Capitalists. I've never understood why most anti-war and leftist protests are often in weird places. For example, in NYC: why protest at Union Square? We should be protesting on Wall Street!

I don't really think the average American even knows about these kinds of clashes that occur between the right and left all the time, with the state protecting the right and attacking the left. If they knew about it more, things might change a bit.

If you look at history, particulary in Europe you will find that the police will always side with the fascists against the working class struggle. In fact many police will have ties with far right groups.
You only need to look at incidents such as the 'Munich putsch' to find sources of police collaboration. During the 2001 anti capitalist demos in Genoa, italy(which I attended) Several of my comrades were arrested and the Italian Carrabineri were alledged to have sang fascist songs while urinating over their heads, after they ordered them to kneel down.
