I recently created an account and posted a message over at combat18 (which is a Nazi/fascist board). I asked them several questions and got several responses. Most alarming was that some of them claimed they were not fascists, yet some of them answered yes to all my questions regarding whether or not they embraced the principles of fascism. The questions I asked them were:
(1) Corporatism -- Merging of corporations and the state
(2) Subordination of the individual to the state
(3) Suspension or loss of civil rights and liberties
(4) Worship of one "supreme" leader
The main point of my post was to demonstrate that National Socialism aka Naziism is not in fact socialism (it was printed in their "white power FAQ" that "national socialists are actually leftist 'racially'-progressive socialists"). While an easy enough concept for most of us to grasp, they seem to differentiate between "marxist socialism" and "socialism". However, I hold that Naziism bears absolutely no relation to socialism, with it's embracing of the four fascist principles above, it is infact the antithesis of socialism. I believe Hitler used the popularity of (marxist) socialism in the 1930s as the reason for naming his party the "National Socialist German Workers Party". In fact from what I've heard, before he came to power he made many socialist-like promises to the workers, while at the same time consorting with business-leaders and capitalists, and once getting into power did not honor any of the promises he had made to the workers.
From what I've also heard the Red Front and communists were much more popular with the people of Germany and even had a higher representation in the Reichstag (let me know if this is true). If the ruling class of Germany, as well as the ruling classes of other countries, hadn't been so blind in their red-fear, things might have gone much better, with the Nazis being stopped in their tracks.
My synopsis is that most of these kids are young, angry whites who probably didn't have a great home and school life, and perhaps had an incident with member(s) of a minority race which led them to find refuge with others who held these horrible ideals.
It's interesting that some of the white-power people there even support animal-rights. Do they not know that they are right-wing fascists? I don't understand how you could support the rights of animals before the rights of humans of other races.
I am preparing a response for the combat18 site but have been busy today. I'll let you all know what the responses are to it.

This is obviously not true. The nazis came to power through bourgeois elections! Obviously they had substantial support from the German people!

Actually to be more accurate:
National Socialism did grow out of the German Workers Party, which was a very strong left wing organisation. In 1921- Hilter took control of the Workers Party and renamed it NSDAP - Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei.
He was put in jail for his revolutionary antics at the "Beer Hall Pusch" where the NSDAP tried to seize contol of the Bavarian Government. In 1925 after being released from prison Adolf Hitler had a plan to seize total contol of Germany... he also had a plan against his percieved enemy (the Jews). His paper, Mein Kampf outlined how the NSDAP should function there after. The Socialist Workers philosophy was replaced by a radical right wing agenda that had been infused with revolutionary movement.
Hence NSDAP became Fascist.
Some points:
NSDAP would create a police state
NSDAP would create a secret arm of the military to terrorize the citizens of Germany- beyond
NSDAP would create a corperate state
NSDAP would promote white supremecy
NSDAP would commit genocide of the jews to create a new Germany.
NSDAP would ban opposition press/ and freedom of expression
NSDAP would expand its military borders (Imperialist)
NSDAP would allie itself with Italian Fascism, and Japanese Imperialism

The German Workers Party were not left wing. They were led by Anton Drexler who was a far right anti semite. Hitler deposed him and changed the name to the NSDAP.
Fascism is a weapon of mass destruction which is used against workers movements when they become too strong. If you look at Germany this was indeed the case. The communist party and the unions were very strong and in the eyes of the ruling class the republic was too weak to combat this, thus they backed the nazis and pushed them to the brink. Krupp (steel company), forinstance gave Hitler a fortune to bankroll the NSDAP knowing that they would destroy workers rights and smash the unions on gaining power. Nazism is the ultimate in reactionary politics. It is a tool of the ruling classes which they turn to when their power is sufficiently challenged. Fascism is a reactionary creation of capitalism and can only exist in a capitalist world.
Gregor Strasser tried to force the NSDAP to stick to the socialism part in nazism and was shot for his trouble. National-socialism is a contidictory phrase and philosophy. The socialism part, is as many have touched on in this thread, put there to please the workers and gain their favour. Hitler never had any intention of embarking on a 'socialist programme' as is confirmed by history. Hitler and his cronies were nothing more than political gangsters in charge of a modern state, but this did not trouble the big capitalists as the left had been crushed and the working class subjugated. Whenever the elite are challenged they will use any weapon to hang on to their power and wealth. In Germany in 1933 they used the most destructive machine in history and we all know where that led.
