This Friday the 3rd of Feb the Senate inquiry into RU486 will commence, and this calls for action.

The anti-choice lobby are loud and visible and we need to prove that they aren't the only ones or the majority.

Forget Sunday as a possible rally day, it is now bright and early on Friday morning. Meet 7am at Railway Square to travel together to Martin Place to inform Sunrise viewers that women have rights.

This is not an autonomous action, we fully encourage all males in support to attend. This is also not a factional event

There will be a working bee at Usyd SRC at 10am Thursday to make all manner of delights.

Please come along, we are running out of time.

Another rally has been called around this issue, this one by the Greens. Socialist Alliance suports this rally, and calls upon anyone and everyone concerned to attend, regardless of political persuasion.

Rally to support Women's Right to Choose

12.30-1.00 Monday 6th Feb, State Parliament, Macquarie St, Sydney

RU486 is a drug that offers women a safe alternative to surgical abortion. The Senate will soon vote on whether the Health Minister (Tony Abbott who is anti-choice) or the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) should decide on availability of this drug in Australia.

A public hearing of the Senate inquiry into RU-486 will be held in Sydney on Monday.

The Greens believe the TGA should decide if this drug is safe - they decide for every other drug. The drug has been chosen by over 21 million women in more than 30 countries including the UK, the USA and New Zealand. The decision about approval of drugs like RU486 should be based solely on medical evidence, not on the personal views of an individual Health Minister.

Join the Greens protest outside the inquiry to support women's right to choose.

Bring placards and your friends. The hearing is open to the public from 9am-5pm if you also wish to attend.

    RU4Choice?

    We need your help.
There is considerable misinformation on RU486 and its safety. Sexual Health & Family Planning Australia (SH&FPA) has reviewed the evidence.
RU486 is as safe as surgical abortion. It offers women an alternative to surgery and it does not lead to more abortions in countries where it is used.
RU4Choice? Do you believe women in Australia should be able to choose RU 486 with their doctor's advice?
Do you believe the experts at the TGA should decide the relative merits of this drug, not the Health Minister of the day?
If so, please visit www.ru4choice.com to sign the petition NOW and contact your networks, colleagues and friend and ask them to sign up too. It is urgent. Federal Parliament will vote on this on 9 February 2006.
