What we are up to right now:
Spartacus Books was lost in a fire which started on the morning of April 25th, 2004, a Sunday. For more information you can check out: http://www.spartacusbooks.org/about.htm
As a volunteer based collective, meetings are in progress (on almost a weekly basis) in order to bring Spartacus Books back to building form.
What Spartacus is:
Since 1973, Spartacus Books is a non-profit, volunteer & collectively run bookstore & resource center that was located right on the edge of Vancouver's Eastside.
Spartacus sold new and used books, zines, comics, magazines, CDs, videos, Tshirts, patches, pins, posters and cards (and more!.
The Spartacus collective hosted shows, workshops, readings and free film nights.
As a community space, Spartacus had couches, workspace and free networked computer terminals (scanner, printer, and CD burner).
The Spartacus collective's focus now is to bring back that wonderful Spartacus community space
