I really admire the passion and commitment to change from many activists in the progressive/revolutionary movement.

I'm not a socialist or communist. I still believe (naively) that change can happen within the frameworks of the US political system. I vote, campaign, and provide donations to many Democratic Party candidates. I still think the Democratic Party can return to the struggling socio-economic classes. I am really disappointed that my party has whored itself for corporate dollars. Americans should never sell out to Big Business Interests! Unfortunately, no one speaks for the poor in this country.

Anyway, I hope to have great exchanges in this forum. I won't agree with some comments but I hope to learn from many people here.

btw...I am a huge admirer of Che Guevara!

You're not educated on the Democratic Party I see. Democrats, throughout history, have been equally as bad as Republicans. They were never a workers party.

The death toll of the democrats is quite large:

Greek Civil War: 160,000 (Truman)
Korean War: 3 million (Truman)
Assault on Indochina: 5 million (started under Truman, accelerated under Kennedy & LBJ)
Coup in Indonesia: 1 million (LBJ)
East Timor: 100,000 (Carter)
Kwangju Massacre: 2000 (Carter)
Argentine Dirty War: 30,000 (mostly Carter)
Iraq sanctions: 1.5 million (mostly Clinton)
Turkish Kurdistan: 40,000 (mostly Clinton)

You can still be liberal yet not subscribe to any preset and predefined ideology.

Thats the first time I ever saw Ian post in a thread not in chit chat.

Anyways, welcome aboard, I used to be a pro-Democrat myself, till I realized the real nature of the Democractic Party and how (Neo-)Liberalism is a blood-thirsty wolf in sheep clothing...it has killed alot more people than I ever thought.

Hope you find you way into the radical left, anti-capitalist bastards we are...unforunately many here are confused and support capitalist states like the USSR, Cuba and others. D=

Hello Comrade,

The Democratics are Elitists. You have been brainwashed into thinking that they represent the hard working middle class by the likes of John Kerry and Ted Kennedy- two of the richest members of the US Senate and Nancy Pelosi- the richest Congresswoman in the House of Representatives.

Democrat/ Republican- they are all cut from the same cloth.

Good luck, hope you stick around for a decent amount of time and convert to being a commie :P

"convert" shit, that sounds like we're a bunch of born-again-christians or something. The american democratic party is not really democratic, and I doubt it has ever been.
