I recently got this in my e-mail about the KKK protests in Tomball a while ago. Just so you know what happened, we were trying to send people in to infiltrate and disrupt the Klan's "lecture and exhibit" which occured in City property. A few black people tried to go in, and were denied to enter (based on their skin color) as well as other people who were obviously not klan members. A few of the people who were not allowed in sued the City of Tomball. Tomball settled the lawsuit by passing this legislation on Monday, December 19.

"The new policy will require that '[a]ny person or group renting or using a building or location owned or controlled by the City of Tomball for a public function shall not prohibit, dissuade, prevent, or exclude any member of the public based upon or regarding an individual’s race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability.' The policy will require all parties renting city facilities for public events to sign a contract of nondiscrimination."

The Mayor of Tomball later made a public apology and declared his opposition to the KKK. This is a victory against the Klan in a state that has always been pretty safe for them. If it wasn't obvious at the protest that the people didn't want them around anymore, this should make it well-known that they are no longer welcomed in the city of Tomball, the state of Texas, nor in the entire country.
