I have been pondering this idea for a long time, starting from last school year. More recently I have taken a much more heavy interest in doing it and would like to have one done by Winter break (finished by 15th, start to hand out 20/21st). Here is what I have below. Will be 3 Full pages (6 sides to fill)

    Current "must be in" articles:

Military Spending - This is based off a flyer I made and posted around the school. (Front page, taking 1/2 of page).
Che Guevara - Most of my school knows the face, not the person.

Added in, but can be taken out:
Stories - Evolution vs. "Intelligent Design"/Racist story. Taken from here, going to add to credit where credit is due of course.

    Would like to have:
Would like to have some pictures of some black/white comics of politics. Or some pictures that are not going to get me in trouble from school (I am taking a "well I didn't violate any school rules" approach.

Pondering Ideas: (Things I am currently working on, but have yet to finish - hopefully will be in).
    Coca-Cola Capitalism.
    South Southern Farms.
    Quotes.
    Obesity problems in America.
Various things about smoking, showing facts of it causes (This could be looked upon as a "violation" to leftists ideas in some cases, I am very fenced about putting something of this nature in the newspaper).

    Anyway, ideas/suggestions? Things to add/cover?

If there is one thing I can not stress enought it is to make your articles relate to your audience. If the articles don't really affect your audience, then they will not read them. And remember that most teenagers have a short attention span, so keep your stories rather short and make sure they get to the point. Maybe you could make a list of all the bad things that Coke can do to you and add that in there. Also try to expose the realities of everyday things. Try to get them interested in leftism. Ask for their input on what they want in the magazine. Remember that most young people really aren't that interested in politics.

    Good luck.

Well there is more of a "leftist following" in the 11th grade (I am a senior). However, some kids will just eat up the more political articles I think. The smoking article will be a hit as much of the school is "anti-smoking".

Which is why this will be more of a "truth magazine".

If you want more stuff to add to your pamphlet (or just some more lit to distribute) you should check out the Campus Anti-War Network's literature oage: http://campusantiwar.net/index.php?option=...start=0&limit=5

Most of their stuff is free to distribute and its pretty relevant to students, its mostly about college and high school kids and how they can fight against the war with counter-recruitment actions.

Look up a few pics of Wild Cat comics, which is an anarchist comic. Here is a link to some small samples. You can order collections from AK Press.
