I think everone no matter what they think of the SWP should help this how they can.
We are monopolists in the field of politics. We can't stand any competition. We can tolerate no rivals. The working class, to make the revolution can do it only through one party and one program. This is the lesson of the Russian Revolution. That is the lesson of all history since the October Revolution.†-James P. Cannon.

One of the useful things about election campaigns is reaching an unusually wide audience with socialist ideas...partly in the course of campaigning in the streets, petitioning to get on the ballot and so forth.

And also by getting some coverage in the big-business media, that otherwise might not be possible.

Google News Search - Coverage of Socialist Workers Party candidates -69 results, most of 'em about local election campagins. I tried to filter out parties of the same name in other countries (other than the U.S.)

A couple examples - Spanish-language interview in the Los Angeles daily Hoy
    English translation

Socialist's platform focuses on workers - from a New Jersey paper

Leaving aside any debate over the political difference between the two parties: if the Socialist Equality Party is running candidates in the U.S. right now, they're not showing up in a news search, not even as results from their own website.
