So, I have been searching the Internet for a long time now trying to find a Trotskyist party that supports revolution in America; obviously not now because we are nowhere near ready – but a party that wants to get us to the point that a militaristic revolution would be successful in the near future, is there such a party, or do I settle with the Communist Party of America, and hope that they wise up?

This is a sticky thread in the Practice Forum. There's a couple of Trotskist groups listed for the United States.

The SWP (Socialist Workers Party) maybe? Not sure though. I'm not Trotskyist, but from what I remember hearing, this is Trotskyist group. But again, I'm not sure.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a Trot party here in the states openly advocating violent revolution.

    There are however a couple.

The SEP or Socialist Equality Party (International Committee of the Fourth International) is certainly a Trot party. SEP

I also believe that the ISO (Socialist Worker - weekly newspaper of the ISO) is a Trotskyist Party.

I would definitely not recommend the CPUSA as they have become nothing more than a more radical (barely) arm of the Democratic Party.

You may also want to check out the Communist League to see if it fits your ideology better. C-L

Actually it's the Socialist Worker, the weekly of the ISO. That link is for that weekly and links to the ISO. Sorry for the confusion.

There'll be the american part of hte international marxist tendancy, imt, ww.marxist.com should say more.
In what relations do the Communists stand to the proletarians as a whole? The Communists do not form a separate party opposed to other working class parties. They have no interests separate and apart from those of the proletariat as a whole. They do not set up any sectarian principles of their own, by which to shape and mould the proletarian movement.

It is only by strengthening ourselves ideologically, inculcating in ourselves the values and ideals of the struggle and building up the ranks of the revolutionary party that we will make it.

Communist League are the only one I'd recommend. They're not Trotskyist, but more like a 'back to Marx' group.

They were Trotskyist, but they turned to Castroism in the early 90's.

The time to speak the truth has come... The government of the United States cannot be on the side of peasants because it is an ally of the landowners. It cannot be on the side of workers anywhere in the world because it is an ally of the monopolies. It cannot be on the side of colonies because it is an ally of the colonizing powers.

WIL is an international Trotskyist group that supports eventual revolution in the US and does a lot to help the Venezuelan revolution (they started the Hands off Venezuela campaign). They publish a bi-monthly newspaper called Socialist Appeal and have been around in one form or another since the 1930s (they have undergone name changes, and have gone underground at one point in time).

I can send you more information about them if you would like. They're a really great group to be a part of if you are a Trotskyist (although we do accept non-Trotskyists).

    What is 'Castroism'?

    Free People's Movement

A revolutionary Communist group based on the revolutionary theories of Marx & Engels and the important contributions of others since then.. affiliated with the Communist League through the International Working People's Association

I hope the Communist Party of America is genuine. It is such a nice idea to have a Communist Party stretching from Tierra del Fuego to Whitehorse.
If they had faith in me and my motives, they wouldn't need a union
