The Red & Anarchist Action Network is pleased to offer a new propaganda flyer designed specifically for streetcorner handouts and ideal for leaving in stacks at your local bookstores, music venues, infoshops, and other places where anti-authoritarians might happen to be passing by. This is a "mini-flyer", so each page will produce two copies when cut in half. We encourage all cells and collectives to engage in a widespread distribution of this new piece.

By the way, much thanks to InfernoMunky for helping us put this together.

    The text follows:

    AUTONOMOUS NUCLEUS
    “LOS INCONTROLADOS”

Red & Anarchist Action Network (RAAN)

    Who Are We?

We are network of response against the daily violence of the capitalist system. We opt for the autonomy of the exploited in action and organization as opposed to in the parties, unions, and “official associations” that make up the system and nourish it through their operations.

    Why?

Because capitalism is a system based in the exploitation of other people’s labor, it generates social classes and converts us into subconscious participants in this exploitation. For example, when we consume at GAP or IKEA we contribute to the maintenance of an economic structure that disguises its brutality under a false discourse of development.

In order to defend such a system the State – as the marionette of the rich – reprimands all of its opponents either directly through repression, torture and criminalization, or indirectly by the consolidation of the means of communication, public space, and education.

    Towards What End?

Faced with this reality, we wish neither to generate pity nor fall into a victimist discourse: for that there are the Democrats and the AFL-CIO. What we want is to create the social pressures necessary for a revolution that destroys – from the roots – this society, governed by oppression and the oligarchy, to construct atop its ashes a cradle of cooperation and mutual respect.

HOW LONG WILL WE KEEP WORKING FOR THEM?

For more info on RAAN either check out their website or the thread about them in the "Practice" Forum, here.

I hesitate to say that I am "part of" the "organization" because I believe this to be misleading in terms of how RAAN operates. There is no actual membership because the network is a tactic that becomes invoked when people choose to carry out actions in its name. RAAN is also not an organization because it only exists in those same moments. At the same time, we are accepting of "organized" collectives on a regional level, each of which might have their own internal structures or requirements for membership (within our broad Principles of Organization). This is probably the aspect of RAAN that is closest to traditional conceptions of an "organization".

As for if we're trult communist/anarchist, I suppose that depends on who you ask! Leninist "communists" would definitely say that we are not real commies, but that's only because we refuse to support or associate with them in any way. From inside the anarchist movement, we've been criticized by Green Anarchy for choosing to ally ourselves with libertarian Marxists, so from their viewpoint we're not anarchist, either.

I myself am a communist and consider RAAN to be completely aligned with the true autonomous communist tendency in human development, as well as structured in a way that puts anarchist principles into practice much more effectively than most groups (see the thread linked above for more on this).

Please help us mold ourselves to the changing realities of revolutionary conflict by contributing your ideas, criticisms, and especially suggestions or actions.
