It'll be on in time for prime time Christmas Day, they've got to keep up the ratings, you know. I heard ABC are pushing for St. stephens day, though because they've already got their schedule sorted out, and the can't fuck with it.

    Seriously, I'd say mid-January.

canikickit's explanation seems more logical. I'm wearing my US flag shirt - dollar bill signs instead of stars, missiles instead of stripes. And it says United My Ass. If they make me change, then I will put on my Bush: International Terrorist t-shirt. Stop this war.

Mid January, or maybe early February. Depends when Bush remembers that Christmas is over, could be years, but I reckon one of his advisers will remind him.

Lets make this their second Vietnam. I mean with that heavy protests, educating the people about socialism, revealing the truth of the operations by Journalists(also leftist journalists bringing the truth about "mistake kills" by US military and that sort of shit)
Let no one charge that socialists have arrayed class against class in this struggle. That has been done long since in the evolution of capitalist society. One class is small and rich and the other large and poor....One consists of capitalists and the other of workers. These two classes are at war. Every day of peace is at the expense of labor. There can be no peace and good will between these two essentially antagonistic economic classes. - Debs

I'm hoping for the same thing CCCP, but the advantage for us to an open-ended 'war on terror', is that it could have many conflicts and many opportunities to protest and convert disenchanted people.

    Against what will you protest?

Socialists who life in America try to put so much pressure on the US government that they start a debat(I hope)with u, in that the real face of Captalism and nationalism will be revealed.

Otherwise the proud citizens of the US see a bunch of "reddies who wants to destroy their beloved nation."

I think Bush will start his war in Iraq in half Januari, the troops are mobilized, I hope the americans will loose (First of all I hope now war at all) and the press tells everything about their fucked behaviour: my father protested against the war in Vietnam I'll do the same against the war in Iraq.

    Ps: any dutchies up here?
PPs: I don't understand I thing about the stars (I'm a Campãnero because I'm new here others are Guerrillero etc how does this work?)

I'd go with January or February. Bush and the rest of the warmongers are just waiting around to give the impression that they're trying to handle the situation peacefully and that they're putting time into considering the peaceful approach. The war will happen though.

    Comrade Daniel,
There are quite a few Dutch comrades. Look in the Lounge forum for some of them. As for the stars, look in the FAQ of this site which is located at the top of the page.
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain

    canikickit,
If the war does start, we're assembling at the U$ Embassy in Ballsbridge at 6PM that night. Try come in if you can. The following Saturday a national demonstration will be arranged.

Definately. A war on Iraq will radicalise huge numbers of people but the unfortunate thing is that it takes a war to do this. So in a sickening way, a war is also to a Socialist's advantage which is extremely unfortunate.

Yup and you know what the bad thing is? After the Vietnam war the socialist movements decreased. Lets not happen that to us.

But they increased during the war aswell. I think that many people lost interest because the demo's had ended because I know demonstrations become the highlight of my week and I have good "fun" at them. I think many people get bored and that's why the movement slowed.

Maybe the youth of the sixties(not all) was fighting for themselfs and when that was acomplished they stopped. The 60's was a time when youth got more independant from parents. And what was the perfect way to show that u don't agree with your parents? Protesting, because the most parents were pro-war.

And what u see now on the streets: cappies with Che shirts. Maybe it was a trend to be communistic, so people joined communist partys. When the trend was over, people lost interrest.

Maybe this is a good explenation.

i printed up about 50 posters and handed them out to people. They were all torn down by the end of the day, or scribbled upon. I have never been this pissed at people. The ones that are ignorant and are open to education dont vex me, its the stupid ones that hate those different from them that make me want to stomp something.
