Hello and Thank you,
I am right now feeling a little uncomfortable at the forum. Can you please brief me a little about it.
yes welcome comrade i am new to and would like a breif as well
Greetings, how goes the leftist movement in Pakistan?
"We are now becoming a mass party all at once, changing abruptly to an open organisation, and it is inevitable that we shall be joined by many who are inconsistent (from the Marxist standpoint), perhaps we shall be joined even by some Christian elements, and even by some mystics. We have sound stomachs and we are rock-like Marxists. We shall digest those inconsistent elements. Freedom of thought and freedom of criticism within the Party will never make us forget about the freedom of organising people into those voluntary associations known as parties."

A fellow Pakistani! Welcome comrade.

I am not in a position to tell you about the leftist position of Pakistan but I belief that there is no harm in trying.
The leftist movement in Pakistan is currently facing a low time about the collapse of USSR, like everywhere round the world. The long decade long rule by the right-wing military dictator Zia-ul-Haq from 1977 to 1988 also brought sufficient harm to the struggle.
These days, the leftists are busy in their struggle against the Privitization of state institutions. They have made a united body known as Anti-Privitization Alliance and working to stop any further privitization. They are also working against a act known as Hasba Act that was introduced by the right-wing religious government of North Western Frontier Province. Some political parties have also shown some interest in forming a united front to fight religious extremism, right-wingers and militiary dictatorship.
I think leftist are doing a commendable job knowing that they are not in a strong position.
Please join the email list of Communist Workers and Peasant Party (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cmkp_pk) to recieve regular information about the leftist strggle of Pakistan. I hope the moderator will not count that as advertisement.

Welcome to rl, what do you think of the pakistani mp manzoor amhed?
In what relations do the Communists stand to the proletarians as a whole? The Communists do not form a separate party opposed to other working class parties. They have no interests separate and apart from those of the proletariat as a whole. They do not set up any sectarian principles of their own, by which to shape and mould the proletarian movement.
-Karl Marx
It is only by strengthening ourselves ideologically, inculcating in ourselves the values and ideals of the struggle and building up the ranks of the revolutionary party that we will make it.
- Ta Power
With all respect, I think he has sidetracked from his cause. He is a member of Pakistan People Party-Serpao group along with the Communist Party of Pakistan (I am not sure of that). CPP is only communist from name. They have done things to show that they are an oppertunist faction in the left of Pakistan. They are right now most concerned with holding seats in the parliment. They must understand that the struggle is towards a socialist revolution.
Quite recently, CPP have supported the Hasba Bill introduced by the right-wing government of North Western Frontier Province while all other left parties are united in its opposition. I found the support of CPP really absurd.
I have not read much about the Mr. Manzoor... he may be someone like ex-preimier Z. A. Bhutto who just used socialism to come to power.

which is why i split from them. Were you a member also?
They are just revisionists working in tandem with the PPP.Just using the name of socialism to get in power.

No, I am not a member. Hoever, I am planning to form a student party aiming to organise the students of Pakistan. I might be doing this in collaboration with in one of the leading leftist parties. I disapprove of the revisionism too.
