Well, of the 14 defining characteristics of Fascism, the US meets every one of them currently..........it's not so much "if" anymore.

Every capitalist nation on earth meets those 14 points in some shape or form, some more prominantly than others. Those characteristics are worthless.
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain

If they were openly fascist, as with Italy during WW2, I would first get my friends and select members of my family to safety, if they don't wish to fight, and then I would fight.

    Of-fucking-course I would.

Who here wouldn't fight against fascism?

What the United States is doing in Iraq is easily equviolent in terms of moral outrage and cost of human life.

People in this thread might profess being willing to fight their government, but the fact is that, what they aren't doing in the US they are doing in Iraq (fallujah is a complete concentration camp with militarized 'work brigade' slave labor, in Abu Gharib and other sites thousands of iraqi civilians on mere suspicion of links to or support of insurgents are subjected to the most twisted pscho-sexual sadism and summary exicutions to be well documented in recent history). I assume no one thinks American communist's lives are more valuable then Iraqi civilian's.

If you guys meant what you're saying here, you'd be building bombs and stockpiling guns instead of boasting on a message board that you'd fight, because, now would be the time.

Lol if the US government was fascist, as it is, i'd stay out of its way. I don't want to get killed :-p. Everyone here is wimpy, why not just admit it. Clearly we all value our own lives more then stoping the US government from terrorizing the world.

I have the "14 Characteristics Of Fascism and The Bush Administration" on file as a sound file, any one want? it compares how the Bush Admin meets EVERY SINGLE ONE of the 14 Chars of Fascism...

Oh yeah, and the U.S. Government isn't already Fascists (albeit a lighter version)?

The file is pretty long at 17:29, but it's WELL worth the length.

What a stupid question, of course we'd fight fascists. Not that they aren't already. Haha.

If the government was openly sending people to concentration camps, it would be far easier to get the essential support we need for a revolution. Instead the US is mainting the illusion that it is a free democracy.

Yeah, and no one thinks its bad what they do at Guantanamo Bay.

What we, as Lefties, need to do is inform people about our treatment of prisoners there, and how it goes against many of the rights we guaruntee.

Did you know, Castro has never cashed any of the cheques the US pays him for the rent of Guantamo Bay.
