It goes one for the student who refuses to submit and two for the teacher who is under-paid as shit, and three for the strikes who give young bloods life and four for the years you spent stifled inside.

Its kinda almost become a cool thing to have a confederate flag in America.
cut your hair and get a job...
I live literally in the KKKapital. I'm not joking, so almost everyone has a fucking confederate flag. I'm almost immune to feeling anger towards it, I just have seen it so many times.
He who was previously the money-owner now strides out in front as a capitalist; the possessor of labour-power follows as his worker. The one smirks self-importantly and is intent on business; the other is timid and holds back, like someone who has brought his own hide to market and now has nothing else to expect but - a good tanning. - Karl Marx, Capital Volume I
I don't think cool is the right word.
You can't learn to swim in a library.
What is really scarry is that I see them down here in Australia too. There are just these fuckwit hicks in some rural areas who drive around in their utes, gun racks attached and the Australian and COnfederate flags. I know this sounds like a generalization but its no joke, I saw these guys. Good thing was, I was with my Dad and brother at the time, both of whom are old socialists, so we gave the areholes the finger. It is horid though, I just don't understand if people simply don't get the history of the falg or what?
They don't at all; they take it at face value and do it because others do...
Just look at all the people waving the US flag... they both stand for the same injustice, though the Confederate flag is a little more blunt about it these days.
At least we know who the "serious" bigots are... I want to burn a Confederate flag... A radical socialist guy I know got arrested for doing so at a National Socialist rally, those fuckers and the pigs had to protect them, some pathetic supremacists they are.
Don't you just miss the days when politicians where publicly endorsed by the KKK?

I live in Kansas City (a big city, not like western Kansas with all the farms and hicks) and I see Confederate Flags, but rarely. Earlier I was riding my bike and stopped to get ice cream from an ice cream truck, and I noticed the ice cream dude was black and had a confederate flag bandana. So it's not alway a symbol of racism, sometimes it's just an icon of southern pride.
I was wearing a punk communist shirt, I might add, and he didn't stare at it like most people do.
That's true, but the guy also could've been a dumbass. In my opinion, anyone who wears the confederate flag as a badge of honor is a fucking loser. Ultimately, though, the symbol does tie to slavery, which equals racism.

I live in Florida, I have it pretty bad. In certain area, you could see plenty of confederate flags if you looked, and it always pisses me off. But I do think it is starting to lose it's impact on most people, because down here, they sell confederate lighters and knives at literally every gas station.
It sucks that our bigotry has reached the UK and Australia, but hey, you guys have to have racists to fight against also.
