That depends, for instance if i lived in America during WW2 i would not have joined the US military, simply because i knew that the aim of the US was to create an empire. But if i lived in the USSR i certainly would have joined the red army and fought the Nazis.

I'd fight, not for a country(may need to enlist in a military, or just start your own resistance group if the Nazis occupied other countries) but in general I'd be fighting against the restriction of freedom and stop the spread of Facism, not for america( as the case in WW2, or for revenge for pearl harbor)
I don't understand the 3rd option and 2nd option.
3rd option: I would fight anyway would be most effective except for nuclear warfare.
